Rodney King Evangelicals
Conservatives in the spiritually bankrupt denominations of the PCUSA, UPCNA, and the PCUS either withdrew from their struggles or would not stand resolutely in the face of persistent and organized rebellion and heresy. The default setting ecclesiastically for those defeated Presbyterian evangelicals was the Rodney King dictum: “Can we all get along?” The Biblical way of saying that is: “Peace, Peace, when there is no peace.”
Court of Appeals Modifies Erskine Restraining Order
The Court of Appeals ruled and, pursuant to the motion by the ARP Church, modified the language of the preliminary injunction against the ARP Church, overruling four of the five restrictions that Judge Griffith placed on the General Synod of the ARP Church.
Extra #12 – The Mutinous Erskine Board of Thieves!
“The Mutinous Erskine Board of Thieves” is the only way left to describe the Board of Erskine College and Seminary. These trustees who have been nominated by the Nominating Committee of the ARP Church and elected by the General Synod are suggesting what amounts to an act of theft.
Gid Alson Removed as Academic Dean at Erskine College
After eleven months of service, Dr. Gid Alston has been removed without cause and replaced by Dr. Brad Christie as Interim Academic Dean at Erskine College. It seems that Dr. Alston chose the wrong master to serve and is now betrayed.
Extra #11 – The Scandal of Erskine – A 21-Gun Salute!
There are many words in the dictionary that can be used to describe the situation at Erskine College and Seminary. What is the best one? “Scandal” is defined “A publicized incident that brings about disgrace or offends the moral sensibilities of society and the outrage or anger caused by such an action or event.” – Yes, “scandal” is THE word – “THE SCANDAL OF ERSKINE!”

Upon receiving my packet for the meeting of General Synod I was hoping for an Erskine report that forthrightly and humbly recognized the disaster that has fallen upon Erskine over the last year. But no, the hauteur elite of Due West have once again produced a piece of disingenuous obfuscation emblematic of all that is aberrant and dysfunctional at Erskine College and Seminary.

The problem with this award is the manipulative nature of it. Even a blind person can see that this is not the honoring of a peer but a pathetic political ploy aimed at the ARP Church. This is a sham! Indeed, in the ARP Church, this is going to be seen as emblematic of all that is wrong with Erskine.
30.2 – Erskine Faculty Votes No-Confidence
This past Tuesday, May 11, 2010, the Erskine College faculty passed a resolution of “NO CONFIDENCE” in the Moderator’s Commission of the General Synod. The vote was 39 to 8.

So, the Newberry judge has continued the restraining order that Erskine Board members, David Chesnut, Richard Taylor, and Parker Young, requested against the The ARP Church has appealed the judge’s ruling. So, what does this mean? What can we in the ARP Church do?
Email #5 – Erskine’s Egregiously Execrable Executives
After Scott Mitchell and Joseph Patrick issued a letter to the ARP and Erskine communities, the Editor asks, Have these people lost their minds? Scott Mitchell is the one who initially acted in contempt of the General Synod’s actions. Scott Mitchell is the one who opened the floodgates of legal actions. Scott Mitchell is the one who has incurred more than $50,000 of legal fees for Erskine by his insubordination and sedition. And do you understand that the $50,000 attorney’s fee was only for what he started and backed away from? There is much more to come!…
